Parents, as we move into the holiday season, we will be sending out important information and reminders to keep you up to date on all the happenings here at Grace. Our first round of updates are detailed below:
We have had an increase in the number of children running ahead of their parents at pickup and drop-off. As a result, we have had reports made to our office regarding children wandering the building. Parents, please remember our Pick-up and Drop-off policy. Children running ahead of their parents, pose a safety risk. While on campus, children should always be with their parents during drop-off or pick-up. Failure to follow this policy may result in disenrollment.
To ensure the best possible communication between parent, teacher, and administration; we have implemented a center wide conduct sheet. Please remember to read and initial your child’s conduct folder daily and take note of any comments left by their teacher. Please contact administration with any questions regarding the conduct sheet.
Beginning Monday, November 5th, we will offer our students the option to have a morning snack. Please note: our morning snack does not replace breakfast. We feel the children are more prepared to participate in classroom activities when they have had a snack between breakfast and lunch.
Samaritans Purse (Operation Christmas Child):
Each year we teach our students what it means to give to those in need by participating in Operation Christmas Child. We ask each family to take a shoebox to prayerfully and thoughtfully pack with gifts that children from countries far and wide will receive for Christmas. The boxes are located outside of the administrative offices and have detailed instructions for packing and shipping inside. We hope that your family can help us, help others.
GLS Christmas Program-
Each year the teachers and staff of Grace Lutheran School produce a Christmas Pageant for our families. Each class will have a spotlight in the program. Please make sure that your children are practicing their parts at home and look for notices from their teacher about any special attire requirements. Parents- parking is always difficult for our program, so please remember to arrive early and follow the instructions given by our parking attendants.
Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year’s Holiday-
Our holiday closures for this school year will remain as previously scheduled: We will not have school on November 22nd and 23rd. We will be closed from December 24th thru January 2nd. Please note, we will not collect tuition for the week of December 24th thru December 28th, but billing will resume for the first week of January. Should you have any questions, please contact administration.
Grace Church prays for our school families and staff every Sunday, but if you have a specific prayer request, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
